From Teacups to Triumph; Dance Academy raises over 10k for Charity

There was more than just sugar in the air last Saturday at Castletroy Town Centre.

In a show of true community spirit, the talented team at the Dance Academy hosted their much-loved annual Drink Tea for MND Bake Sale in support of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. From cupcakes and cookies to tray bakes and treats, every bite bought contributed to a truly meaningful cause and together, the community raised an incredible 1,561 in one day.

That amount has now been donated in full to IMNDA, supporting the important work they do for individuals and families affected by Motor Neurone Disease in Ireland.

This event has been a beautiful tradition over they years, and as the Dance Academy shared:

“In the 6 years that we have hosted this event, our total donations to IMNDA are €10,259. This is incredible and only possible with the help and support of our Dance Academy community.”

And the generosity doesn’t stop there. From September 2024 to May 2025, the Dance Academy has helped raise and donate approximately 6,500 across a range of vital Irish Charities, Including Claire’s Wish, Childhood Cancer Ireland, Limerick Animal Welfare, Jack and Jill Foundation and IMNDA.

It’s a true reflection of what can happen when people come together, a mix of purpose, passion and a sprinkle of sweetness.

We’re so proud to host this kind of community magic here at Castletroy Town Centre, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, showed up, or simply enjoyed a treat in support of something bigger.

Here’s to kindness, connection and community, one slice at a time.
